This 1991 AM General M998 HMMWV was delivered to the US military in March 1991 and is powered by a diesel 6.2-liter V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission, a dual-range transfer case, and front and rear Torsen limited-slip differentials. It was acquired in Texas by the seller in 2021 and relocated to Oregon, and subsequent work included a repaint in matte tan, a rebuild of the power steering system, the replacement of the batteries, geared hub spindle nuts, and rear driver-side half-shaft, and the installation of aftermarket front bucket seats, LED headlights and auxiliary lights, and removable tubular doors. This HMMWV is now offered with the removed seats and canvas doors, partial service records, and a clean Oregon Title. The M998 High-Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle went into production for military use in 1984. This example was repainted in matte tan, and additional work included the replacement of the windshields and the installation of removable tubular doors as well as LED headlights and auxiliary lights. Additional equipment includes a bedliner-coated bed with a rubber mat, a tan canvas soft top, a rear pintle hitch, and front and rear tow hooks. A set of mismatched removable canvas doors is included in the sale. The 16.5†eight-lug steel wheels are mounted with 37×12.50″ Goodyear Wrangler MT/R tires. Stopping power is provided by inboard-mounted disc brakes at each corner. The power steering system was rebuilt in 2022, and work included the replacement of the geared hub spindle nuts and the left-rear half-shaft. The cabin houses brown leather-trimmed aftermarket front bucket seats and aftermarket rear seat cushions. The central tunnel has been coated in bedliner, and additional details include a storage rack and a monitor connected to front-view and rear-view cameras. A three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of a 60-mph speedometer and auxiliary displays. The five-digit odometer shows approximately 32k miles. Total mileage is unknown. The naturally aspirated 6.2-liter diesel V8 sends power to all four wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission and a two-speed transfer case. The oil was changed and the air filter was replaced around 550 miles ago. Two New batteries. The independent suspension features helical gear-reduction hubs for higher ground clearance. We are a family owned business in Salem Oregon for 36 years. We believe in a laid back no pressure business model and treat our customers like we would want to be treated. We have a near 5 star google rating and that is not easy to achieve. Our sales manager Chris has been selling cars for 30 years and has the same model. Originally we sold only Classic Mustangs and preferably the high performance and fun ones as we pursued the love of cars. That expanded to Mopar's and the occasional Camaro and Corvette. After about 5 years banks quit financing these old muscle cars so we went mainstream on the inventory. We stock a few oldies for fun and now there are dedicated lenders for muscle and collector cars. This last decade has produced cars that are more fun and efficient than ever. We offer very proven mechanical breakdown policies that is the best we found in 36 years off selling cars. Please check with Chris. We can offer them on your current vehicle too. We invite you to check us out before you buy elsewhere.
